BATTLE OF THE BANDS & HOSPITALITY COORDINATOR

​For two years, as a Battle Coordinator in Movin’ On, I was not in a textbook leadership position in Movin’ On, but the time leading up to and day of the Battle event, I was a leader in sharing our vision and executing that vision with our colleagues. In this position, I was tasked in picking judges, developing a rulebook and application, delegating tasks to our band representatives to ease communication, sending and submitting the necessary contracts and releases, and finally overseeing the day of show tasks. One of the ways that I showed leadership through this event is through effective communication with the bands, band representatives, and my colleagues when delegating tasks. Unfortunately, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our 2020 Battle had to be postponed.
