An animated rapper and producer based in New York City, Omari Vel’s realm of sound are flamboyantly expressed through his carefully curated genre, “GlamRap”; a confidently loud genre that pulls its influence from funk, rap, and glam rock. His own corner of genre is best received live as he graces the stage with an elaborate style of dress and with his band.
A maximalist by nature, Omari’s recent song “Fly Me to Mars” featuring ByMaddz & DayOneNotDayTwo, is accompanied by a music video that experiments with AI and psychotropic visuals that is set in the subway stations of New York City. Since its release, he has played various underground Philly and New York venues. Omari's second Ep "Don't Look Down, You Might Crash" drops in September of 2023.
The Fire, Omari's backing band, uses many synth elements to create its signature sound. The group consists of Ryan O'Grady on guitar, Maximilian Barry on drums, and Indoor Yves on bass.
